Gene was born January 24, 1936 in Denison, Texas.
Gene was a Registered Public Land Surveyor, avid hunter, gardener, coin collector and loved classic vehicles. His passion was collecting American Indian arrowheads and other artifacts. He enjoyed making homemade ice cream from his mother’s recipe, and loved baking apple pies, pecan pies, chocolate chip cookies and divinity from scratch which he would share with his neighbors, friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Camille Carruth
He is survived by his brother, Richard Carruth; son, Rick Carruth and wife, Cynthia; daughter, Cindy Carruth Manak and husband, James; son, David Carruth; daughter, Sheri Carruth Lindsey; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.
