Eugene Griffin IV
April 14, 1986 – February 3, 2020
Eugene Griffin IV, 33, son of Carol D. Griffin, Eugene Griffin III and step-mother Peggy Griffin. He was born April 14, 1986 in Jacksonville, FL and was called home February 3, 2020.
He was a graduate of Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, FL where he was a member of the ROTC. “Junior” was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served his country from June 30, 2004 until June 17, 2009. During that time, he spent 11 months and 24 days in the Operation Iraqi Freedom campaign and received the Iraq Campaign Star Medal for his service. Some of his other accomplishments include being a military mechanic in the Army and achieving the Dean’s List during his time at DeVry University. He enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eugene Jr. and Effemia Griffin, of Warren, OH.
He is survived by: his mother, Carol D. Griffin of Jacksonville FL, his father and step-mother Eugene “Gene” III and Peggy Griffin, his maternal grandparents I. B. and Deloris Roberson of Adel, GA, his brother Corey A. Griffin of Jacksonville, FL, his half-sister Genesa R. Griffin of San Diego, CA, his step-brother Jonathan C. Barnes, Jr. of Warren, OH and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was a soft spoken, kind hearted young man who was loved by all who knew him and will be truly missed.
