Eugenia Ruth Baxter

Service: 3 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Autumn Leaves of Cityview, or Vitas Hospice.

Eugenia was born in December 1932 to Ruth and Oscar Rutledge, the youngest of 11 children. She married "Cotton" Baxter on May 21, 1950. She was a longtime member of Old School Primitive Baptist Church and a resident of Crowley. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and RV traveling.

The family wishes to thank Autumn Leaves of Cityview and Vitas Hospice for their wonderful and loving care.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice (1951), her son Dennis (1984), her parents, brothers and sisters.

Survivors: Husband of 64 years, R.E. "Cotton" Baxter; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Kirk Ledyard; son, Wayne "Shorty" Baxter; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Keith; sister-in-law, Gertrude Samberson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
