Eunice Faye Kelley Lee was born on September 15, 1948, in Freestone, Texas, to the late Chance and Johnie Edwards Kelley.
She received her education in the Fort Worth Independent School District and graduated from the historic I.M. Terrell High School in 1968. Eunice continued her studies at Brantley-Draughton Business College and later attended Paul Quinn College, formerly Bishop College, in Dallas, Texas.
Eunice dedicated many years of service as an administrative assistant in the personal injury law and insurance industry. She also faithfully served within the Presbyterian Church (USA) for over 40 years, holding various roles including administrative assistant, church clerk, announcing clerk, and secretary of finance.
In April 1970, Eunice was united in holy matrimony to Wilburn “Sonny” E. Lee, a union filled with love and devotion. On New Year’s Day in 1971, Eunice gave her life to Christ, and her lifelong mission became to know God and love Him more each day.
Eunice was a faithful member of Samaria Baptist Church for more than 40 years, serving under the leadership of Reverend James Ray Evans, Sr., Reverend McKinley Jackson, and Reverend Wm. McKinley Jackson. She later became a founding member of Jericho Road Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Rodney A. Petty, Sr. There, she served diligently as Mother of the Church, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, and a devoted member of the Helping Hands Committee.
Eunice found great joy in attending church and spending time with her beloved great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, and cheering on college football—especially her favorite team, proudly saying, “Roll Tide!”
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 5:15 p.m., Eunice Kelley Lee peacefully departed this life at Texas Health Harris Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilburn E. Lee; her parents, Chance and Johnie Kelley; and her siblings, Joe Lawrence, Dorothy Kelley Lampkin, Tommie Jean Carruthers, Bobbie “Foxie” Kelley Spriggs, and Jackie Kelley Griffin.
