A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel follow by a Graveside Service at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.
Gail was born in Palestine, Texas to Lee Griffith Smith and Mae Boyd Smith on March 13, 1936.
She attended school in Waco, Texas. She graduated from Navarro Junior College and attended Baylor University. Gail married James Edward Mayben on August 25, 1956 in Hillsboro, Texas. She worked as the church secretary for Handley Church of Christ for several years. While raising her family, she was very involved in her church. She especially loved planning and hosting parties for the youth groups.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents; her sister and two brothers; her husband of 34 years, James Mayben and her son, James Steven Mayben.
Gail is survived by her daughters, Kim Mayben McCall and husband, Mark; Jennifer Mayben Moore and husband, Rusty; daughter-in-law Barbara Shelton Mayben; grandchildren Nathan Moore and wife, Brittany; Cory Moore and wife, Lydia; great-grandchildren, Hudson Moore, Levi Moore, Lou Moore and Crosby Moore.
