Evelyn J. Spartas Trimboli McKee, 97, of Fort Worth, Texas died on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center in North Richland Hills, Texas. Born June 15, 1919 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Dorothy Spartas.
Mrs. McKee grew up in Parsons, Kansas and Stamford, Connecticut and graduated from Stamford High School before moving to Fort Worth, Texas in the 1940s. She was passionate about life and family and extremely proud of her Greek heritage. Always in a positive mindset and up for any adventure, she was the perfect blend of trailblazer and traditionalist, party girl and Miss Manners. Although a devoted wife to both husbands, Mrs. McKee was also a career girl and enjoyed working in accounting for Bell Helicopter, retiring from there after more than 25 years of service. She was an active member of the Fort Worth Women’s Club and Daughters of the Nile and enjoyed painting, gardening, traveling the world and doing genealogy research with her cousin Edna.
Mrs. McKee is preceded in death by her husbands Frank Trimboli (1963) and William McKee (1986), siblings James J. Spartas, Christo J. Spartas and Helen J. Spartas Butler. She is survived by her cousin Edna Marshall Youngblood (Bruce) of Austin, Texas, nieces and nephews Christolene C. Spartas Heavens (Howard) of Waterbury, Connecticut, Dale C. Spartas (Sue) of Bozeman, Montana, Darlene C. Spartas of Hatfield, PA, Richard P. Butler (Debi) of Milford, New Jersey and Claudia Butler Shannon (Gregg) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and many great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 10 at Shannon Rose Hill Chapel located at 7301 E Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76112. Reception to follow.
