Faye was born November 5, 1927 in Memphis, TN, to Mattie and Vernon Herriman. She graduated from Memphis Tech High School where she was elected cheerleader and voted Most Beautiful Girl.
Faye met Edward Leon Alexander in church in Memphis after his return from WWII and they were married August 22, 1947. The newlyweds moved to Knoxville while Leon attended the University of Tennessee, where their first son, Jerry Lee Alexander was born.
After graduation, the family moved to Harlingen, TX to begin a career with the Soil Conservation Service and welcomed daughter, Deborah Ann in 1952. In 1954 another move took them to Uvalde and then to Temple in 1959, where son David was born in 1962. Their final move was to Fort Worth in the summer of 1971.
Faye devoted her life to God and to her family, striving only to make others happy. She was the ultimate wife, mother and homemaker, delighting in her husband, children and grandchildren's accomplishments, supporting all their efforts while humbly downplaying her own.
She was a fabulous cook, baker and extremely talented seamstress. Faye was active in the church life of every community she lived in and created lasting friendships wherever she went. She loved art, music, reading and watching golf and football with her family.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Don Herriman and son Jerry Lee Alexander.
Survivors: She is survived by her adoring family, husband of 67 years, Edward Leon Alexander, daughter Deborah Alexander Nash and husband Charles, son David V. Alexander and wife Cheryl and their children, Brandon and Madeline; sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Bob Bell; sister-in-law Beverly Herriman; five nieces and nephews; and many cherished friends.
We give thanks to God for her life and boundless love.
