

Funeral: 1 p.m. Saturday in Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel, Mr. Ronald Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Fern was born March 29, 1916, in Harper, the second of five children born to Arthur and Stella Sellers. She attended high school in Harper and Fredericksburg. Fern moved to Arlington in 1936 and worked for the Eastern Star Home. She married Douglas Middleton on July 2, 1937, and moved to Handley. They were married for 60 years. Fern attended private business schools and TCJC and became very proficient at secretarial skills. Her working career included Montogomery Ward and the U.S. Postal Service. She retired in 1971 after 20 years from the Postal Regional Transportation Office. Fern was a member of Handley Baptist Church for over 70 years and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas H. Middleton; her sister; and two brothers.
Survivors: Daughter, Yvonne Hutchings of Hurst; son, Gary Middleton and wife, Guelda, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Roger Hutchings and wife, Ami, of Flower Mound, Gelynn Majure and husband, Don, of Cape Cod, Mass., Mark Middleton and wife, Ah, of Arlington, Kenneth Hutchings and wife, Heidi, of Watauga, Angela Middleton and husband, Marty, of Arlington; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, A.L. Sellers of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
