Celebration of life: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. The celebration will begin with a viewing. A Musical Wake from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and A Service Of Remembrance at 11 a.m. Saturday will both be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with the Reverend W. Timothy Glynn, Eulogist and Dr. Carl McElroy, Pastor.
A Graduate of Morehouse College, Mr. Smith was a Retired Math Specialist with The FWISD, Musical Director for The Historic I.M Terrell Adlee H. Trezevant Memorial Choir and Music Director for The Fort Worth Chapter and Voice Instructor of The Gospel Music Workshop of America. He was a Member of Higher Dominion Bible Fellowship, where he served along side his brother as Music Director. One of his crowning moments in life was to become a 33rd Degree Mason, of Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons of Texas, where he served as grand organist.
Survivors: Cherishing The Memories of Fins are brother, Eddie L. Smith; Uncle, Mr. W.G. Miller; nephew whom cared deeply for his concerns, Derrick Smith; nephew, 1st Sgt. Terrance Johnson, United States Army; Edwin Smith; three special cousins, Lorriane C. Miller, Daisy Price and Billye Aaron and husband, Hank; nieces, Josalynne Wheeler, Crystal Gail Roberson, Valisa Lester and Althea Johnson
