September 11, 1935 – August 20, 2019
The Texas Cowboy.
Foy V Parham, along with his twin brother Roy, was born on September 11, 1935, in the small Texas town of Walnut Springs. The son of a rock and brick mason, Foy’s parents revered personal responsibility and hard work, and instilled these values in their children. Foy attended school in Stephenville, Texas, where he eventually met his life-long sweetheart, Bobbye Louise Evatt. After wedding bells rang on June 29, 1957, the happy couple continued the dancing and romancing for the next 59 years.
Along the way, Foy and Bobbye settled down in the cow-town city of Fort Worth, where Foy entered the shipping and delivery business for companies such as A&P, A.L. Davis and Vandervoort’s. After the birth of son Kent in 1962, Foy continued working hard to support his family, delivering goods around the North Texas area for Boswell, Buddies and Kimbell. Eventually, Foy made his way to Winn Dixie where he enjoyed a career as supervisor before retiring after several decades.
A sports fan, Foy enjoyed playing in adult league softball tournaments for several years and rooting for his beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Usually up and at ‘em by 4:30a.m. (A.M.!), Foy also enjoyed meeting up with friends and former co-workers for weekly breakfasts.
In 2016, Foy and family said goodbye to his loving wife who passed away in December of that year. He continued enjoying the company of family and friends and keeping up with his favorite TV westerns.
His final months were spent comfortably in Nashville, Tennessee, in the company of his son and in-laws.
Foy left this earth peacefully on August 20, 2019, at the age of 83.
He is survived by son Kent Gregory Parham and son-in-law Stephen Wayne Boysen Jr., of Nashville, Tennessee. He’s also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Jay Pittman of Stephenville, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by wife Bobbye Louise Parham, parents Willie T. and Olivia Parham, and brothers Roy, Billy Ray and Charles Gene.
