Frances graduated from Zephyr High School in Zephyr, Texas. She met her husband, Charles M. Campbell, her senior year of high school in 1943. They were married June 29, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas. Charles and Frances enjoyed 60 blissful years of marriage before Charles preceded her in death September 3, 2003.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Frances was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and playing dominoes. After Charlie retired from Frigidaire, he and Frances traveled extensively within and outside of the United States. An accomplishment for the couple was traveling to 48 out of the 50 states of America. An avid football fan, she would never miss the opportunity to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys.
Frances had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Carter Park United Methodist Church in Fort Worth where she and Charlie were members for many years. Frances many made life long friends as well as a lasting impression of the children she taught in Sunday school.
Frances spent the last four years of her life with her daughter Judy Barnes, who devoted her life to lovingly care for her Mother.
She is preceded in death by her son, David Campbell, parents R.L. and Minnie Thomas, sisters Beth Thomas and Exie Kneip, and brothers R.L. Thomas and Jack Thomas. Frances is survived by her brothers Buddy Thomas and Larry Thomas, daughter Judy Barnes, granddaughter Kira Plost, and great-granddaughter Avery Foster.
