

Born on February 1, 1950, in Gorman, Texas, Estelle was a proud graduate of Comanche High School, Class of 1968. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Sciences with a concentration in education from Tarleton State College in Stephenville, where she met the love of her life, George Steven Terrill. The two were married on June 4, 1971, in De Leon, beginning a partnership that would last over five decades.
A devoted educator, Estelle touched countless young lives during her 42 years as an elementary school teacher, primarily at Carter Park Elementary and 5 years at Southwest Christian School in Fort Worth. Her warmth, dedication, and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on generations of students and colleagues alike.
Estelle had a heart for service and a deep faith in God, which she expressed through active membership in several congregations over the years, including Altamesa Church of Christ, South Main Church of Christ, and Aledo Church of Christ. Known for her hospitality and kindness, she especially loved to cook—her homemade dinner rolls were a beloved favorite at family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Ardell and Frances LaVern Ellis, as well as her brothers Kyle “Butch” Ellis, Joe Ellis, and Jerry Ellis.
Estelle is survived by her husband, Steve Terrill of Willow Park; her son, Michael Terrill, and her cherished granddaughter, Chloe Terrill, both of McKinney, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Ellis of Comanche; and her sisters, Oleta Giesecke of Houston and Lena Stringer of Sherman, Texas.
Estelle’s life was one of love, service, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Frances will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134, followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.
