Frances Grier-Turner born Frances June Richardson on January 10, 1935, left her earthly home for her heavenly home on November 6, 2021. Her children can testify she was more than ready to make the journey and probably went jumping and running all the way, excited to see Jesus and loved ones who preceded her in death: Her parents, Floyd and Lo Richardson; her siblings, Floye Dell, Albert Wesley,
Bobbie Jean, Shirley Jane, and John David; her husbands, James D (Don) Grier and Ken Turner; her grandsons Joshua Adkison, Kale Ausley and her great granddaughter Madison Adkison.
With 4 kids, Mom became a dedicated and busy homemaker who loved entertaining, decorating for the holidays, creating wonderful memories whether it be a Mickey Mouse Club in the garage, lemonade stand, sliding down hills on cardboard boxes, or the smell of cookies baking as we walked in the door from school. She loved going to church, gardening, and playing cards or dominoes with her many friends. She was very artistic and could do anything she put her mind to. She sewed matching western shirts for Western Day for the family along with matching square dance shirts and skirts. She did wedding consulting and planning, owned her own florist shop at one time and even taught at the Ft. Worth School of Floral Design. Frances developed a passion for quilting and made special quilts for family members which they cherish. In her later years. she came to enjoy painting and always had some kind of piece of art in process.
She was very blessed to have a fairly large family whom she loved dearly, and they loved her. She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Jamie Sue and Jimmy Hamilton, Thomas Floyd and Rhonda Grier, Michael Ray and Julie Grier, and Lisa Jo and Matt Adkison; 12 surviving grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters; one sibling, George Henry Richardson; and a host of
nieces and nephews.
