Frances “Bitty” Roe-Wilson was a determined, one-of-a-kind, life-loving…Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mommy, Cousin, Auntie, and Friend. “Bitty” loved all that life brought her way. She was the life of a party and never a stranger, longer that five minutes!
Frances was married to Larry Wilson Jr. for 12 years, but was his life-partner for 32 years. Frances loved Larry like: Ants love a picnic, a fish thrives in water and Grits need shrimp!!! They were soul mates and even death could not stop her from speaking of him daily. “She was made to love him…and she did.”
Frances was born on September 24, 1954 to Van Roe and Mosey-Lee Murray, in Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from the Fort Worth, ISD school system and then spent her early years in clerical and management jobs. After meeting and falling in love with Larry, she joined him in his independent truck driving career. They traveled the U.S. and built a lasting bond.
Frances had no biological children of her own, but she mothered all that would come in her path. She and Larry were the God-parents of Ava “Buttons” Denise Larry. They loved her with their whole-hearts until the Lord called her young soul home. She then became the adopted-play Mommy to Tina Degrate. Tina brought Frances three young-adult grand-children: Derrica, Derrick, and DeMetria and 8 great grandchildren…She love them like her own.
Frances never joined World Missionary Baptist Church (Pastor Dimitri Caver) but she and Larry visited very frequently with Auntie-Mom Ella Montgomery. She gave her life to Christianity during her teen years and often spoke of her love of Jesus Chris, as an adult.
Frances suffered a massive heart attack at her home and then passed away, three days later, at John Peter Smith Hospital. Even though, she had been ill for the past two years, she was in rehab and had fought her way back from being non-mobile to driving her PT-Cruiser.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Larry Jr.; father-Van Roe; mother-Mosey Roe-Cox; sister-Eila Vancine Davis (Richard); brothers Frank James/”Bo” and Marlon Ray.
She leaves to mourn: Nephews/nieces-Princeston Parks and Helen Hogan (Frank James); Cousins - Mary Jackson (Elijah), Marvin (Wanda) Russell, Johnny B (Teresa), Sheryl (Jamison), Mary Brown, Johnny Ray and many others; additional nieces/nephews - Alvinesia Mapps, Roderick (Courtney) Mapps, Tatiana, Broderick, Andre, Destiney, Ashley, Broderick Jr., Brittany, Ronald Jr., Raukell, Mark, Angelica, John, Olivia, Kamisha, Asia, Bryant, Derrica, Derrick, DeMetria and countless Friends – Tina Degrate , Jimmy Smith and those at the Barbershop. If we failed to name you, Thank you for Loving Frances, she loved you.
