Hello, I am Rhonda Berry, Paul Burnette's youngest sister. I am so sorry to hear of your loss .I did not know Fred very well, but visited with him several times at Paul & Freda's home in Godley. Prayers to the family. I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him. He always was very kind when I was around him.

I love you Uncle Randy. There are so many memories of you, that I could write for days. Instead I will say that I miss your laugh, your dimples when you smile, and that funny little grawl that you used when you were trying to scare me. I remember the spider monkey that you gave to us when we were kids living on San Rose Dr. He was not so very happy being with us, so he didn't last long. Then several years later, you gave us a baby alligator. He mysteriously went missing on the same day that he bit our mom. Mostly I will always remember how much you loved us, always, unconditionally.

When Randy lived next door to Paul & Fred we would go over & swim any time we visited with them in the summer.
One July 4th weekend I went for a visit & we went swimming & there were a bunch of feral kittens everywhere. Only one kitty would come to me, so I brought him home & named him Casey. I’m sure Randy was happy to get rid of him.
Randy was always very nice when we visited & I know Freda loved him very much.

I was blessed to have been a neighbor of Randy's for many years. Well, a simi neighbor, because I spent so much time at Paul and Freda's! The several times I would house sit for them, Randy would come and check on me to see if I was ok or needed anything. He also said that I could go over and swim any time. Now, that's a good neighbor.
I also remember that Randy was quite the artist. I got to see his artwork, wood art and if I recall, leather work also. Very talented.
Now, another Crowder has left us way too soon. This family has always welcomed me and treated me like one of their own and I loved them for that. Rest in peace Randy. And since you're there, tell everyone I said hi! 

In 1996 my dear wife Freda (gone now) convinced me to move from our home on Eagle Mountain Lake to a dead end dirt road near Godley. Why? Her brother Randy was in poor health and she didn’t want him to die alone. Randy loved his sister so much, he sold her a corner of his land, and allowed me to tag along. We lived in his home for four months while ours was being built. I met several people in the area who called that road “The road where the Vietnam Vet lives and don’t go down it!” Of course Randy radically changed through our time there. So did I. Freda was the facilitator. 
In 2006 (a year after I retired) we decided to sell our home and buy a 5th wheel trailer to go see America! Randy thought it was a great idea and he would do the same! He bought a big Chevy truck and 5th wheeler and we bought a big F350 Ford and we were choosing colors for our rig. Seems like his home was sold it a matter of days…and Randy was gone. We discovered Freda had cancer and pulled up our sale sign. She lived (and I mean Lived!) almost another year. Randy saved my life, more than once, during some dark days before and after Freda was gone. Roger (gone too) was my most frequent and favorite visitor throughout the years I lived alone on that dirt road. Rest In Peace brothers and sweet wife and sister. 

I remember I was begging anyone in my family to go hunting for snakes with me. And no one had anything but excuses as to going with me. But, uncle Randy volunteered. We walked around the pasture flipping over wood and sheet metal, lifting rocks and limbs too. Under one piece of plastic, we found a very angry looking tarantula. Randy used a stick to guide it into a plastic bucket, and then proceeded to chase my sister and I around with it pretending to throw the spider on us. But after a good laugh he put it back right where we found it. That’s what I always think of when I hear his name. It’s a memory I hold dear.
