

Frederick Eugene Hooks
“Yella Boy”
Frederick Eugene Hooks, known as “Yella” was born November 23, 1971, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a blessing from God to parents Queen Ester Hooks and Jack Timothy Mayfield.
He attended O.D. Wyatt High School where he participated in the Marching Band alone with some of his siblings and close friends.
From his union of marriage at a young age, God blessed him with three adorable daughters, which he considered truly a blessing from GOD! After almost a decade and a half, Frederick was then blessed with his only son, Frederick Eugene Hooks, Jr. whom he cherished and hoped would continue to carry his name on for generations to come.
Frederick maintained employment alongside his mother at Nokia for over a decade until the company relocated their homebase to another location.
Frederick continues to maintain gainful employment with several other well-known corporations. Seeking other fields of Employment out of state, Frederick ended up in Seattle, Washington, where he met his current wife and acquired multiple bonus kids and family which he adored.
Frederick lived in Seattle for almost 10 years, until returning to Texas for a position with the VA Hospital of Dallas.
Frederick was diagnosed June 23, 2026, with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and started treatment immediately at Baylor, Scott and White Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas. Frederick went in with guns blazing and won the fight against Leukemia but succumbed to the aftermath of a severe infection. Frederick took his last breath calling out to his Lord
and confessing his -renowned love for Jesus Christ with family
surrounding his bedside.
Frederick is preceded in death by his, father, his lovely sister "Toxi"
Those left to cherish h.is precious memories are his beloved wife, Kim Nash of Seattle, WA. Alone with his stepchildren, Ta'mya Cooke and Marian Cooke; mother, Queen Ester Hooks; daughters, Ashellie, Asis, and Amber; son, Frederick Hooks, Jr. Sacramento, CA. brothers, Gregory Hooks (Petra), Clarence Hooks (Jennifer) and Keith Hooks (Dishinia); sister Karla Cameron (Gregory). stepson, Jadakis Jenkins; He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
