

Freedonia (Benson) Hatcher was born on July 28, 1928, to the parentage of James and Mary Benson in Jewett, Texas Leon County.
She received her formal education from Friendship Elementary School in Jewett, Texas and I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
At an early age she accepted Christ at Friendship Church of God In Christ. After moving to Fort Worth, she became a member of First Saint John Baptist Church and later Crouch Memorial Church of God In Christ.
At a special time in her life, Freedonia met Raymond Hatcher (the love of her life), and after a period of courtship they declared their love for one another uniting in Holy Matrimony; to this union one child was born (Charles Hatcher).
Freedonia loved spending time with family, traveling and looking her best (At All Times).
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, Freedonia slipped away quietly, to be with the Lord. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Raymond Hatcher; parents, James and Mary Benson; sisters, Gustine Evans, Ruby Benson, Netty May Morgan, Hester Busby and Alice Johnson; brother, Jerry Benson.
Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Charles Hatcher and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.
