Service: A celebration of life will be held June 9th at his home in Crowley.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to Fort Worth Botanical Society for a Memorial Bench in honor of Gary Jennings (Contact Erdie Allsup 817-392-5548), Shriners Hospitals for Children, or PAWS for Veterans.
Gary was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, on September 8, 1943 to Donald Lee Jennings and Paulene Elmyra Charbonneau Jennings. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Southwest Computer College in Albuquerque. He married Sharon Kay Roslyn Jennings on March 20, 1965. They lived a short time in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Albuquerque, New Mexico before establishing their home in Crowley, Texas in 1972. As a child Gary enjoyed working on his family’s Dairy Farm. Gary served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Princeton then moved back home and worked for General Electric. He worked his way through school working at Circle K and providing for his family. His career as a Computer Programmer/IT Manager started at John Peter Smith Hospital. One of his greatest career accomplishments was managing the IT Department for Finger Furniture and then retired from Lockheed Martin.
Gary’s main love was his family. When he wasn’t fixing something or helping his children and grandchildren he loved to ride his bike, watch NASCAR, and play on his John Deere tractor. Gary never met a stranger and always put others ahead of himself. His great sense of humor is going to be missed dearly.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Paulene Jennings and Parent In-laws Charles and Maydine Roslyn. Charles and Maydine had a very special place in his heart and took great care of them as they lived next door to him for over 36 years.
Survivors: His loving wife of 52 years Sharon Jennings, children Kevin Jennings and wife Shelley of New Braunfels; Kelly Jennings Peterson and husband Terry of Crowley, Texas. He adored his grandchildren Shelby Schott, Jennifer Jennings, Aaron Schott, Corey Jennings, Ryan Jennings, Logan Jennings, Emma Peterson, and Mallory Peterson. Siblings Peggy Jennings, Donnie Jennings, Kayla Piscia, and Denise Archer. Gary had a big extended family that included brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins
