It is with heavy hearts and a flood of memories that we announce the untimely passing of Gavin Lee Ashmore on December 19, 2024, at the age of 24. Gavin was a beloved son, father, partner, brother, grandson, and friend—a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He had a rare gift of making everyone around him feel loved and appreciated, often while delivering a perfectly-timed joke or punchline. His infectious laughter could brighten any room, and his humor was the kind that made even the toughest days feel a little lighter.
Gavin faced his share of challenges in life, but he approached each day with an unmatched sense of humor and grace. His kindness was boundless, and his loyalty unwavering. While he was known for his quick jokes and clever comebacks, it was his deep thoughtfulness and generosity that truly left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Gavin was always the first to offer a helping hand, the first to make you laugh when you needed it most, and the first to make sure you knew how much you were loved.
A man of many talents, Gavin had a voice that could melt hearts or shake the walls. Music was a passion that came naturally to him, and it was impossible not to smile when you heard him sing. Gavin had a remarkable ability to turn even the most ordinary moments into something unforgettable, and his energy, charisma, and love for life made him impossible to forget.
Above all, Gavin cherished his family. He was a true “mama’s boy” who loved his mother, Tricia Heginbotham, deeply. He was a devoted father to his two beautiful daughters, Adriana and Avery, who were his pride and joy. Gavin was also a loving and caring partner to his best friend/girlfriend Stephanie Aurich, with whom he built a family full of love, laughter, and countless memories.
Gavin is survived by his grandparents, James & Ana Heginbotham; Great grandfather James Heginbotham Sr., his aunt & uncle Joiann & Daniel Martinez; aunt Diane Bennet, his sisters, Shannon Ashmore, Crystal Maze, & Kirstie Davis, his brother, Dylan Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, along with his best friend, Cody Medford, whose friendship brought him endless joy and mischief.
