

Gerald Glen “Jerry” Hiller peacefully departed his earthly home for his heavenly home at 6:27 pm on March 17, 2017. Service: 10 am Wednesday March 22, 2017 at South Hills Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6pm to 8pm Tuesday March 21 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Interment: Pecan Wells Cemetery in Hamilton TX. Born January 24, 1923 to Walter and Ireta (Gerald) Hiller on the family farm near Hamilton, Texas, Jerry was the eldest of five children. After serving in the Army in Europe during WWII, Jerry graduated from Texas Tech and became a life-long Red Raider fan. He developed a successful career in the oil industry, first in West Texas with Hillmac Company and then with the Jerry Hiller Company in Casper, Wyoming. Jerry often piloted his own plane as he serviced customers for his diamond bit coring business around the region. After retirement, he returned to his roots and settled in Ft. Worth enjoying his South Hills Baptist Church community, being “The Donut Man” to his neighbors, and cheering for his ever-loving Red Raiders. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Louise (Murray) Hiller and their son, Larry Glen Hiller; his second wife, Betty Elsie (Hines) Hiller; siblings, Roy J and W.C., Jr. Jerry is survived by sisters, Doris Franklin and Juanetha and husband Howard Yeakel; son, Paul and wife Judith Hiller; daughter-in-law, Karen Baker Hiller; 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Gerry, Everett, Lawrence, Joshua, Daniel, and Valerie; and 15 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caregivers at Silverado for their kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made to the building fund of South Hills Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
