Gerald was born on July 16, 1939, in Abbott, Texas.
Gerald was preceded in death by three women with whom he shared chapters of his life: Myrna Collier Kennedy, Sherry Caldwell Kennedy, and Jeanne Sample Kennedy. He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Cheyanne Caldwell, and his parents, G. D. Kennedy and Cora Virginia Palmer Kennedy.
He leaves behind his brother, J.D. Kennedy and wife Pam; his daughters, Dianne Kennedy Ditmore and husband Robert, Kathy Kennedy Zapata and husband Santiago; his son, Steve Kennedy and wife Janine; his bonus daughters, Stacey Caldwell Smith and husband Greg, Cathy Caldwell Pohoreske and husband Brett; his bonus son, Doug Caldwell and wife Melinda,Stacey Sample, Brian and wife Cindy Sample.
He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who had the blessing of calling him PawPaw. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth at The Chapel Of Chimes ,7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134, on October 7, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, (Main Chapel) 7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134, on October 8, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
Burial will take place at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134, on October 8, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
