Gerald DeWayne LUSK

August 14, 1965August 30, 2020

Gerald DeWayne Lusk was born August 14, 1965 in Corsicana, TX (Navarro County) to Howard James Lusk and Annie Lusk. Gerald was a vibrant, loving and caring young man. He loved making family, friends and those he did not know smile. He had a kind heart, a heart of love, giving, and being a blessing to others. Gerald accepted Christ at a very young age at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Fort, Worth, TX. He matriculated through the Fort Worth Independent School District. A graduate of O.D. Wyatt High School Class of 1983. Where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He called himself an all-around athlete. After graduation Wayne worked for a local roofing company before entering the roofing business with his father that we hoped one day he would take ownership, but he was his own person. He loved culinary and wanted to learn more about cooking. He worked for various restaurants in the DFW area and would have you to believe he was the chef. He would come home and cook savory and exotic dishes for the family. Some we loved some we liked, but it was one of his many passions. Gerald was a very meticulous individual who admired fashion. When you saw him, he would be dressed from head to toe crisp and clean.

In spite of his journey he continued to love God depending on his Christian foundation and held on to God's faithfulness and unchanging hand. Always willing to help, give and be a blessing to others.

Wayne was a person who did it all, lived life to the fullest and he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his brother in law Andre’ J. Gardner and Grandmother Bessie Lusk.

He leaves to mourn his parents Howard and Annie Lusk, two siblings Carla Lusk-Mass(Marcus), Patrice Lusk-Gardner, two children LaToya Lusk-Penn(Brandon) and Gerald DeWayne Lusk Jr. and one granddaughter Zoe Lusk, four nieces Marquita Antrice Mass, Marissa Antoria Mass, Trinity Reign Gardner and Shiloh Zion Gardner.

To know my dad was to know a GOOD time! I have many memories of my dad, but the one thing that is consistent with all of my memories is that light up a room smile. Dad taught me to LIVE life to the fullest...he had a YOLO (You Only Live Once) mindset before it was even a popular slogan. Love you dad.
