1944–2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Glenda Lee McFadden, who left us on April 15, 2026 at the age of 82. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt, Memaw, friend, and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Born on February 23, 1944 in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Glenda was the child of Joe and Geneva Carroll. Throughout her life, she was known for being a Mother, Grandmother, and her professional career as a CPA.
She was often the loudest in the room — in the best way — bringing life, laughter and a sense of home wherever she went. She loved making lists of jobs (always for her sons and nephews to perform), making lists of groceries and making lists of recipes she couldn't wait to try. She was an excellent gardener and a true southern cook. She loved cooking meals that brought her family together. More than anything she had a gift for telling stories, making people laugh and feel welcome. She is leaving a legacy of joy, character and we will miss that beautiful smile. Everyone who met her loved her. She was multifaceted and well-traveled. She most enjoyed cruises with her close-knit Kentucky crew.
Glenda is survived by her sons, James (ED) McFadden and wife, Patti, Stephen McFadden and wife Brooke, her sister, Debbie Feggett and husband, Danny, Nephews - Kevin, Jeremy, Rick and Dave along with 5 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren. The Whitlock Holler that include numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, 2nd, 3rd cousins, and half of Kentucky and a lot more family and friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by youngest son, Gilbert (Bubba) McFadden, Parents Joe and Geneva Carroll, and sister Donna Lasley.
