

Gloria Ann Tolliver Stevenson was born December 23, 1946, to Dooley Tolliver and T.Ettar Contee in Port Allen, Louisiana. She was the baby of three children, with two older brothers, Charles Ray Tolliver and Rufus Tolliver. Gloria graduated from The I.M Terrel Highschool class of 1965; where she met her lifelong love, Jerry Lang Stevenson. The two grew up together and were high school sweethearts, who married April 18, 1968. To this union, two children were born. A son, LeVoger, and a daughter, Quitaque. Through Jerry’s military career, they traveled the world, where they eventually retired back to Fort Worth, Texas, to build a life for their family.
Gloria accepted the lord at an early age and loved to show her devotion to Him through song with her family, friends, and church choir. Her faith in the Lord ran deep, which she instilled in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those who knew her.
Endearingly referred to as "Texas Glo", Gloria led a life filled with love, adventure and true dedication to those she cared for. While everyone who met her, has their own shared experiences of her, all can say she was a woman who knew how to have a good time, which you would never forget. Gloria loved to host parties, where the highlight was always the delicious food she would make for everyone. She would tirelessly spend days preparing a feast where all were welcomed to enjoy.
Gloria was lovingly called “Granny” by eight grandchildren, Gloria Atlantis Stevenson, McEllery Jusu Woods, Nija Stevenson, B’anca Monique Stevenson, Zaria Lynette Stevenson, MaKayla Anne Caise, Jayda Renae Stevenson and Saul Stevenson. Her five great-grandchildren, Travias Scott Watson, Milani Denise Johnson, Deshmond Deray Johnson III, Amora Woods, and Nova Amore Johnson.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Dooley Tolliver and T. Ettar Contee, as well as her beloved Aunt Lenny and Uncle Sidney Whittaker.
Gloria is survived by her Husband, Jerry Lang Stevenson, brothers Charles and Rufus Tolliver, son LeVoger and his wife Martha, daughter Quitaque Stevenson, friend turned sister Diane McNeil , Sister in Laws, Evelyn Joy Stevenson, Val Jean Miller, Almetia (Nita) Spriggs, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
