Glovinnia Joan Rambin, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away on February 25, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 90. She was born on November 17, 1934, to parents Curtis Eli Rambin and Lela Kate Griffith in Bronte, Texas.
As an English teacher, Joan inspired generations of students with her passion for literature and the love of writing. She had a special gift for connecting with others and fostering a love of learning. Joan’s enthusiasm for her subject was matched only by her profound interest in Fort Worth history. She had a passion for the city, and loved all things “Texas”, with a particular affection for the Stockyards and its rich heritage. A lover of museums, art, and history, Joan enjoyed exploring new places and deepening her understanding of the world around her. Traveling was one of her greatest joys, and she relished the opportunity to learn and share stories with others.
Joan’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her three children, Curtis Leonard, Andrea Stone, and Lela Naughton, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Her legacy and memory will live on through all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held in Fort Worth, Texas, with family and friends gathering to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County to support their continued work in the community.
