Gordon Lewis Bass

A graveside Celebration of his life will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth, Texas. Military honors will be presented at the service. Visitation will be at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday evening, November 1, 2018.

Gordon was born on January 28, 1942 in Groveton, Texas to Rowland and Bernice Bass. He was the oldest of three children. The family would move to Hudson, Texas where Gordon attended school, graduating from Hudson High School. Shortly after starting college, Michael would be drafted in 1966 and would serve his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, retiring in 1986. Gordon was a Vietnam veteran. He would marry Linda Allsbrook on July 15, 1970 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. They would have one son, Michael Bass. After retiring from the Air Force, Gordon would work at General Dynamics/Lockheed and then Bell Helicopter before his final retirement in 2006.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents and both siblings; brother Gowland and sister Gloria Jean.

Those left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his wife of 48 years, Linda Bass, son, Michael Bass and wife Julie, grandchildren Rachel, Jonathon, Katherine, and Benjamin Bass, sister-in-law, Katie Bass, niece Michelle Morris and her husband Jerry, niece Brandy Holt and her husband Eddie and their children, and many other loving friends, neighbors and co-workers.
