Harold was born on March 1, 1945, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Calvin Dewey Fowler and Ann O'Connor. He lived a life marked by faith, service, dedication, and a deep love for his family, friends, and community.
Harold proudly served his country in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman Third Class (AO3). Following his military service, he built a distinguished career with Bell Helicopter, where he worked for more than 30 years before retiring.
A man of deep faith, Harold later answered God's call to ministry. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and faithfully served as pastor of Sabine Place Baptist Church for many years. After stepping away from pastoral ministry, he remained active in his faith and cherished his church family at Haltom Road Baptist Church.
Above all else, Harold treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Harold shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Hilda Fern Fowler, whose love and companionship were among his greatest blessings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hilda Fern Fowler; his daughter, Michelle Denise Harrison and her husband, David; his daughter, Mindy D'Nay Wilson; his son, Jason Dean Fowler and his wife Carol Lee; his sister, Carolyn Lopez; his brother William O'Connor; and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew Wyatt Wilson, Diana Rachelle Oates and her husband, Brandon Ray, and Jillian Lee Fowler.
Harold never met a stranger. He loved spending time with family and friends and could carry on a conversation with anyone about almost anything. He found great joy in cooking for those he loved and sharing meals with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time outdoors, and coaching multiple sports throughout his life. One of his favorite pastimes was watching sporting events alongside his wife, Hilda. His warmth, kindness, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Harold's legacy is one of faith, hard work, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He dedicated his life to serving God, supporting his family, and building meaningful relationships with those around him. While his family mourns his passing, they find comfort in the memories he created, the lives he touched, and in the assurance of his faith, knowing that he is now in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
A memorial service celebrating Harold's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Haltom Road Baptist Church.
Though he will be deeply missed, Harold's love, faith, wisdom, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
