The son of Donald and Mabel Benford, Ron was born May 17, 1945, and grew up in Latrobe, Pa. He married Beverly on Sept. 7, 2001. His practical advice for a happy marriage was to say "Yes, Dear." Ron was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and generous friend to many. Ron enjoyed traveling to various countries with his wife and friends. He was easily recognized wearing his Australian hat at Ryan YMCA, Albertson's and Travis Avenue Baptist Church. He retired after 25 years from Lockheed Martin in 2009 as a senior procurement specialist.
Survivors: Wife, Beverly; daughter, Jennifer Rodenbaugh of Greenwood, Ind.; stepdaughter, Tammy Connally of Fort Worth; stepson, Jeff Rennie of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; and many friends.
