Hattie Ezylene Sloan

THE PRECIOUS GIFT GIVEN BY GOD

Hattie Sloan was born March 1, 1939, to the parents of Freddie Duncan Sr. and Susie Duncan in Montalba, Texas. Hattie received her education in the Palestine Independent School District. While traveling to Fort Worth she met her beloved husband, J.S. Sloan. They married on April 13, 1959, and shared 45 years together until his transition.

At an early age, Hattie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and then joined Christland Missionary Baptist Church in 1972, where she was a faithful member. She served as a member of the choir, Missionary Board, Hospitality, and was willing to serve wherever there was a need.

Her strength and gentleness were rooted in her unwavering love for God and her family. That love guided her, sustained her, and touched everyone blessed to know her

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Susie Duncan; her husband, J.S. Sloan; and siblings: Bonnie Duncan, A.Z. Duncan, Wilmer Duncan, RT Duncan, Floyd Duncan, Macy Abrams, Iva Lee Tony, Ruthie Blackshear, and Essie Burns.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her sons, Dwaine Sloan and Kevin Sloan (Felicia); her daughters, Sharon Lee and Delaine Sloan; her grandchildren, Erik Kidd, Erika Kidd, Matthew Sloan, Zandra Lee, Dwaine Sloan, Quincy Sloan, Rodrick Sloan, and Charles Sloan; her great-grandchildren, Aaniyah Snow, Beyaun Jenkins, Rani Kidd, Rian Kidd, Roddi Kidd, Dyllan Sloan, Jamyla Johnson, Delaina Sloan, and Keshawn Sloan; her sister, Verty Jackson; and sister-in-love, Wyvonne Duncan. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, loving friends, and church family.
