Helen Marie COFFEE, age 83, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Thursday June 11, 2020. Helen was born on Sunday, October 25, 1936 in Buckholts, Texas Jessie Bell Burton Green and T.G. Hurd. She was the only child born to that union, but had two step-brothers, Ray Hurd and Leon McDonald and a dear step-mother, Para Nell Hurd. Helen went t nursing school while she was a single mother raising five children and received her LVN License on October 19, 1970. She worked in nursing at various places in San Angelo, Texas, including Shannon hospital as an emergency room nurse and Schlesinger Home Health visiting homes to care for patients in Central and West Texas. She loved to Crochet and make a variety of items. Although friends and family tried to get her to sell her creations, she gave away much more than she ever sold. Helen also loved to read, eat at new restaurants with her family and friends, and watch soap operas, game shows, crime shows and sci-fi on television. Helen married her best friend, Alvin Leroy Coffee, on August 31, 1996. They lived in Chula Vista, California and then moved to Fort Worth, Texas to be closer to family. They loved going on road trip, finding new restaurant to enjoy, and driving around the metroplex getting lost and finding their way back home. Helen and Leroy enjoyed twenty three years together before he passed away on December 3, 2016. Helen had a unique way of showing all her children how much she loved them. Each of them somehow though they were her favorite child. Helen never met a stranger. He had many close friends throughout the years she offered a listening ear and words of encouragement to young and old. After moving to Fort worth, she made new friends and attended a number of churches until she found her home at the Key Church where she was an active participant in the senior women's Bible study and prayer group. Helen has been met in heaven by her mother and father, Jesse Bell Green and T.G. Hurd her husband A. Leroy Coffee, her grandchildren, Leandra Fisher and Chez Fisher, her first born son Andrew Fisher and a host of other relatives and friends. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her children, Donna Cole, Lester Fisher, Jerrel Fisher, Yvette Corbin and Renea Overstreet, her grandchildren, Lloyd "Uno" Cole, David Cole, April Grubbs, Brashna Fisher, Brittani Fisher, Bryanna Fisher, Megan Corbin, Marrissa Overstreet, Morris L. E. Overstreet, many great grandchildren and many other beloved relatives and friends.
