

Helen May Sharer Williams was born December 14, 1932, in Honolulu, Hawaii. After 90 years of great health, a short battle with cancer took her on January 1, 2024, in Mansfield, Texas, at the age of 91.
As a child living with her family in Schofield Barracks on Oahu, Helen had a first-hand account of the December 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor. She married James B. (Jim) Williams on November 20, 1954, in Honolulu and moved to Texas in 1955. She retired from Frito-Lay where she worked as a sales accounting supervisor. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports (especially football, golf, and auto racing). She was a member of the Red Hat Society and generously gave to charities that were close to her heart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her son, James Robert (Bobby) Williams.
She is survived by her daughters Cathy Ann Williams (spouse Sharon) of Fort Worth, and Susan Williams Thomason (spouse Thomas) of Lillian, her sister Sharilyn (Sherry) Cabrido of Burleson, her brother Donald Sharer of Wisconsin, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Whether you called her mother, sister, aunt, or friend, Helen will always be in our hearts.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
