Jackie was born to Charles Edward Robbins and Jessie Lee Hughes on a Stormy day, March 5th 1940, right here in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a majorette at Handley High School. As a single mom, she raised 3 children: Rhonda Hopewell, Shila Manley, and Billy Gentry Jr.
She is survived by: all her children, 11 grandchildren, Surina Foster, Samatha Hopewell, Billy Fred Gentry 1st, Brandon Gentry, Cody Gentry, Blake Gentry, Braxton Gentry Foster, Bethany Gentry Foster, Aubree Renfro, Lee Renfro, and Daniel Yeats, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brother Ricky Robbins, her cousin Deborah Stackhouse, and many other friends and family who are loved like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jerry Darlene Tejerina, her brothers Charles Edward Robbins Jr., and Charles Richard Hillburn.
Jackie worked as a carhop at the Lone Star Drive Inn on East Lancaster when she was 13 years old and later in life for General Dynamics in the tool room during the Vietnam War. She owned Golden Eagle on Azle Ave., and retired from John Peter Smith Hospital. She volunteered at every opportunity. For the VFW, holding positions in the women’s auxiliary, Fort Worth Code Blue, earning the Citizen Chuck Silcox Patroller Volunteer of the Year Award, Fort Worth Fire Department Citizens Rescue, and President of the PTA for her grandchildren at West Handley Elementary.
A Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 4th, 5-8 pm at Laurel Land Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Laurel Land Rose Hill Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5th at 10 am with a graveside burial following in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Family will gather and invite you to join them at the Mexican Inn on E. Lancaster following the graveside service. The family thanks Stephen Renfro for officiating the service.
