James Farmer was born on April 19, 1949, in Dallas, Texas. He was the first of three children born to James and Dorothy Farmer. He attended Fort Worth schools and maintained his residence in Fort Worth throughout his life. After receiving a degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington, he worked in architectural firms and for the State of Texas. He enjoyed reading, keeping up with Dallas professional sports teams, and spending time with family. He will be remembered for his hospitality, dry humor, and caring spirit.
He is survived by his sisters Cynthia McPherson and Jean Reid, four nephews, two nieces, two great-nephews, and two great-nieces.
