He was born in Tarrant County on November 8, 1940. James Howie graduated from Northside High School and received his High School Diploma.
He was married to Barbara Plumlee on August 1, 1959 in Tarrant County. James Howie had a career at Kirsch Drapery Hardware. He had a passion for quilting.
James is preceded in death by his parents Gertrude and Harvey Howie, his sister Patsy, and his grandson James Donald Howie.
James is survived by his wife of 66 years Barbara Howie; his brother Larry Howie and his spouse Sandra Howie; his son Kevin Howie and his spouse Robin Howie; his grandson Daniel and his spouse Casey Howie; his granddaughter Brittany and her spouse Dustin Droz and his two great grandchildrens Kaid and Kenslie Howie.
