

James Douglas Hutchins of Fort Worth, TX went home in the loving arms of his Lord on September 16, 2025. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend who treasured every moment with those he loved most.
James was born on January 13, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Durwood Hutchins and Ruth (Thomas) Hutchins. A true cowboy from the day he was born, he was a fearless bull rider in the rodeo, displaying the courage and determination that would define his entire life.
James recently retired a proud member of the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Union – Local 68. He was also a staunch defender of constitutional rights and a lifelong member of the NRA, believing deeply in the Second Amendment.
He loved to play the guitar, teaching himself how in the early 80’s with a mail-order set of Roy Clark cassette tapes. He also loved to smoke cigars and spend time with his friends at the cigar shop.
A man of deep faith, James walked closely with the Lord throughout his life, finding strength and comfort in his beliefs. His family was his greatest joy, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories.
He will be remembered as a man who lived authentically, loved deeply, and stood firmly by his principles. His cowboy spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith touched all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Durwood Hutchins. He is survived by a large and loving family: his daughter, Sarah (Michael) Welsh, his mother, Ruth Hutchins, his sisters, Cindy Nimpfer, Brenda Looper, and Rachael (Thomas) Jeffrey, his brother, Ronald (Kelly) Hutchins, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
