He was born July 4, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to James and Irene (Allan) Jennings. Upon graduating Ironton High School, James joined the Navy and then attended the University of Missouri. He married Naomi (Parker) Jennings and during their 59 year union, they lived in numerous locations and had two children. Throughout Jim's military and civilian employment, he traveled to every continent on Earth.
Jim enjoyed scuba diving, bowling, fishing, genealogy and enjoying time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Naomi; son, Jeffery (Mary) Jennings; daughter, Linda (David) Turner; three grandchildren, Ariel Jennings, Jennifer Jennings and Haley Turner; sister, Jean (Jennings) Schallert, her children and families.
