

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- James W. Key went to be the Lord on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his son, James Key, daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Key, and granddaughter, Brandi.
Service: Was held Thursday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
James was born Oct. 24, 1941, in Farmersville. He lived with his son and daughter-in-law in North Richland Hills. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, having served in Vietnam.
James loved his country and his family, especially his grandchildren. He lived a long, meaningful life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Key; and parents, Eugene and Hope Lee Key.
Survivors: Son, James Key and wife, Gwen; son, Jimme Jack Key; son, Johnnie Alder and wife, Glenda; grandchildren, Aaron Key, Brandi Whiteeagle, James Edward Key Jr., Ricki Kirkpatrick Jr. and wife, Stacie, and Ryan Kirkpatrick; and great-grandchildren, Dante Whiteeagle, Payton Dallas Alder and Dustin, Dillan and Victoria Kirkpatkick.
