

Jim drove for Central Freight Lines in the Metroplex from the age of 18 until his retirement. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a jokester and loved having a good time with this family and friends. He loved music, hunting, was a master of smoked brisket and huge John Wayne fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Roxann (Mangrum) Maxey of 33 years. He is survived by daughters, Jamie Lanier (Robert), Stephanie Fortner, Amy Blair (James), Angela and Alesha Maxey. Grandchildren: Clayton and Landon Lanier, Tristyn Fortner, Gavyn Phillips, Austin Salinas and Blake Neimuth. Sister: Dana Humphrey (Jerry) of Ballinger. Brother: Bryan Madsen (Becky) of Abilene. Two nieces: Kendra Humphrey and Barbara Day (Dusty) and three great nephews; Brentley, Rex and Luke and much extended family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel at 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Ft. Worth, TX 76148.
