

James was born in Fort Worth and grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, where he formed many of his earliest memories. He made his way back to Fort Worth, Texas where he laid down roots and raised his family. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to precision and excellence as a COPE/PAK pressman at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Above all, James was a devoted family man. He shared 49 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sharon Meadows. He was a proud and supportive father to his daughter, Melissa Meadows, and welcomed his son-in-law, Keith Higgs, warmly into the family. His greatest joy was found in his role as a grandfather, leaving behind cherished memories with his granddaughter, Kaydence Higgs, and his step-granddaughters, Samantha and Savanna Higgs. His strength, quiet dedication, and guiding presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vergie Meadows, and his brother, Barry Meadows. He is survived by his loving wife, daughter, and grandchildren, as well as his brother, John Meadows, Jr. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
