

James was born on March 31, 1964, in Moundsville, WV to A.R. Audie and Peggy Stern. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1982. He proudly served as a combat medic in the 92nd Engineer Battalion during Desert Storm from 1988-1991. James was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and friend to all those he knew. He enjoyed fishing, camping, BBQing, shooting, time with his family and keeping up with all things sports. James will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, his boisterous laugh and being the life of the party.
James is survived by his parents A.R. Audie Robert Jr. & Peggy Anne Stern, his brother Joseph & his wife Julia, his 4 children; Steven & his wife Sonja, Corie & her husband Jason, Lane Stern, JoDee & her husband Jacob, his grandchildren; Steven Jr., Audri, Ronnie, Leighton. James was proceeded in death by his brother Audra Robert Stern III.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 28, 2025 at 3:15PM at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Due to time restrictions on the service, we are asking that any who plan to attend please gather with us in the parking lot across from The Potter’s House of Dallas by 2:45 so that we can arrive together. A reception to celebrate James’ life will be held following the service at 214 West Spinner Road, DeSoto, TX 75115.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in honor of James Stern.
