James was raised in Seminole, OK, and graduated from Oklahoma State University, where he met and married Rosa Lee Fennell. He later served in the U.S. Army before moving to Fort Worth and embarking on a career at General Dynamics, later know as Lockheed Martin.
In his free time, James enjoyed boating, fishing, travel and playing the piano, as well as continuing to work with electronics.
During his retirement, the was known in the community for his generosity and willingness to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Florence Gregory, and Elizabeth Yates; and grandson, Robert Biggs II.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Rosa Lee Bolen; daughter Debra Yates Biggs and her husband Robert; grandson, Derek J. Biggs and his wife Kathleen; and great-granddaughters, Emma, Charlotte, Blair and Bonnie.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at noon, followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park.
