Jana L. Hix

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jana L. Hix, who left us on July 18, 2026 at the age of 78. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Born on April 27, 1948 in Cleburne, TX, Jana Lou Jean was the child of Doug and Janarie Jean. Throughout her life, Jana Hix was known for her servant’s heart, caring for friends, watching volleyball and basketball (especially her Blum Bobcats), and a mean game of hand and foot. She devoted her time and energy to God, family, and friends.

Jana L. Hix is survived with deep sorrow by Joel and Michelle Hix (son and daughter-in-law), Jackson Hix (grandson), Karren Ellis (sister), Gail Moore (sister), and many more family and friends.

Jana was preceded in death by parents Doug and Janarie Jean, daughter-in-law Brandi Hix, and brothers-in-law Tim Ellis and Johnny Moore.

The family invites relatives and friends to a visitation on Thursday, July 23rd from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, located on 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.

A celebration of Jana's life will be held on Friday, July 24th at 2:00 pm, at the Burleson Church of Christ, located on 1150 NW John Jones Drive, Burleson, TX 76028. A procession will follow to her burial at Laurel Land Memorial Park - Fort Worth located on 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.

The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Jana’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
