

Janice Lou Greer (née Reed), affectionately known as Gidget or Nana, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, in Burleson, TX. Born on December 17, 1946, in El Paso, TX, Janice dedicated her life to caring for others, both as a professional nurse from 1968 until her retirement in 2017, and in her personal life, always looking out for the well-being of those around her.
Janice was a devout attendee of First Methodist of Burleson, where she found great solace and community. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, swimming, watching game shows, and following her favorite football and baseball teams. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, who were the centerpiece of her life.
She is survived by a loving family: her brother James Reed Sr.; nephews James Reed Jr. and Lester Reed; daughter Kristina Greer; and granddaughters Mikella Rubenkoenig, Marissa Rubenkoenig (granddaughter-in-law), Sierra Hill, and Victoria Hill. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Reed and Dorothy Hewitt-Reed; her husband, William Greer; her daughter, Kelly Peppers; and her niece and nephew, Kathy Richard and Kevin Richard.
Visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, TX on Sunday, September 22, from 5-7 PM. A funeral service is scheduled for the following day, Monday, September 23, at 2 PM,at The Chapel of Chimes of Laurel Land, with a reception from 4-6 PM at the location in Reception room. Laurel Land Funeral Home is honored to assist the family during this time. Janice's legacy of kindness and care will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
