

A Visitation will be held at Laurel Land – Rose Hill Funeral Home, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112, on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in September at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Hurst, Texas, time and date are to be determined.
Jay was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Marillyn Olive Rogers (King) on January 31st, 1961. He attended Eastern Hills High School and graduated in 1979. He worked as a school bus driver for Birdville Independent School District for 13 years where he retired from in 2026. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a devoted member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church for over 25 years. He was a simple man who enjoyed the outdoors, classic cars, classic rock, and above all else, a good book.
Jay is preceded in death by his mother Marillyn Rogers (King), his brother Bob Taylor, sister-in-law Sue Taylor, and his nephew Jerry Wayne Taylor.
Jay is survived by his daughter Lindsey Brawner (Katie) with former wife Tammy Love (Rice); brother Jimmy Taylor; sister Linda Hogan (Elton); and many nieces, nephews, and devoted friends.
