Jean Fuller, 81 years young, left this world to join our Lord in heaven on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011. Our Father took her from us for reasons we cannot understand, but can only accept. Our sorrows are calmed by knowing she will be comforted, loved and happy as she lives eternally in God's glory.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shannon Rose Hill. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Our mom, Jean Reynolds Fuller, was born in Oklahoma, but moved to Bridgeport as a young toddler. She lived there with her parents, Frank and Vivian Reynolds; her brothers, Woody and Don; and sisters, Y'Reva Neill and Peggy Matlock. She married Earnest G. Fuller in 1948 and they moved to Fort Worth for the remainder of their lives.
Jean and Earnest had one son, Michael Glenn, who only lived a few short years before joining God in heaven. They also had two daughters, Sandra Gail Kinnaman and LouAnne Vandiver.
Although she became a widow in 1988, Jean never remarried. She loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Sandra and her husband, Al, have four children, Brianna Gail, Whitney Alison, Jacob Glenn and Colton Russell. LouAnne has one child, Kristin Gail Jones; her great-grandchild is Kayci Lynn Jones. As the first grandchild, Kristin had the ominous duty of deciding what to "name" her grandmother. Although our mother wanted to be called "Grandmamma," it was just too long for a little girl to say. So, she came up with the name "Mina,", and our mother was known by this name by all of her grandchildren, their friends and neighbors.
As a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ, now known as Bridgewood Church of Christ, our mother taught us to love, honor and worship God in every way. Her love for God was easily seen by everyone who knew her.
Jean worked part time for Dillard Thurman, helping to distribute the Gospel Minutes across the United States and a few foreign countries. She later accepted a position at Meadowbrook Middle School, where she worked as their attendance clerk for 30 years. Our mother loved working with the faculty and students at Meadowbrook Middle School. She touched the hearts of so many students. She listened intently to their problems and would hold their secrets in her heart forever.
Our mom's warm smile, gracious hugs and love for life will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Arrangements under the direction of Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery, Fort Worth, TX.
