He was born on January 28, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jeff moved to Texas early in life where he quickly made friends that he would have for the rest of his life. He loved being part of the “Daggett Dandys” (as they called themselves) with Tom, Bob, Mark, and Brad. They shared many memories and adventures from third grade all the way to present day. He later met the love of his life Diana on a blind date in the early 80s and they were rarely separated since. They spent 43 wonderful years together and loved to spend time with each other’s families and friends. Jeff was also an avid sportsman so when he had Serena, his daughter, in 1992 he was delighted that she also preferred playing ball instead of tap dance. He coached all of her elementary basketball teams and it was soon known that “Coach Jeff’s team” was the team you wanted to be on. He affectionately called Serena “his butterfly” and never missed an opportunity to share how proud he was of her. He loved to update the photos in his wallet as she grew. He also enjoyed mentoring many painters throughout his career . He was always a painter and never had an interest in being anything else. He fostered a lot of good will and friendships throughout his career. Jeff was a good mentor, friend, and an amazing husband and father. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
He was proceeded in death by his father William Lewis, mother Ruth Saling, and his beloved brother Billy.
Jeffrey is survived by his wife Diana Lewis, daughter Serena Wilson and her husband Alphonse Wilson IV, brother Tom Lewis, sister Melissa Anz, many nieces and nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly.
