NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Jerry D. Buck died at a good old age, an old man full of years, and was gathered to his people Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethesda Community Church, 4700 Beach St., Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Jerry was born in Red Wing, Minnesota on July 15,1932. His family moved to Osceola, Wisconsin, where he spent most of his childhood. He attended Texas Wesleyan University on a basketball scholarship, where he met Mary Lou Bush.They married in 1952 and had 3 children, Janet, Gary, and Lee. For many years Jerry worked with his father for E.M. Hale & Company selling library books to elementary schools across Texas. Jerry later moved his family to Dallas where he worked for Industrial Catering. He lost Mary Lou in 1974, and in the same year married Rebecca Ohm. Jerry and Rebecca had one child together, Robert. He continued working for Industrial Catering for many years working his way up from being a driver all the way to plant manager and later warehouse manager. When he retired from Industrial Catering he took his family out on the road for a 6 week trip of the Western United States. Jerry's final employer was the Fort Worth Star Telegram, for whom he delivered papers until he retired in 1994. He spent his retirement caring for his family. His grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his entire family were his life. Survivors: Children, Janet, Gary, Lee and Robert; grandchildren Ruth and Samuel (with one more grandson, Nathan, still on the way); and great-grandchildren, Christian and Dillion.

My grandfather had gorgeous blue eyes and I miss him but I know it will see him she was very kind-hearted very little to say about not liking anybody he loved everybody in like everybody I wish you could have stayed until he saw his other great-grandchild Abigail but I'll see him and she'll see him again one day
