Jim was born October 4, 1926 to Robert Emmett and Minnie Lilly in Throckmorton, Texas. He served as a SeeBee in the U.S. Navy with the 13th, 68th and 125th U.S. Navy Construction Battalions on the island of Okinawa during WWII. In recent years he enjoyed sharing experiences about his service. After his service, he went to Accounting and Business School earning an associate’s degree and meeting his wife to be. Jim then worked at Striplings in the radio and TV dept. He continued his career with the Army Depot and LTV wiring missile guidance systems but his fascination with the television led to his proprietorship of Jim Lilly's TV Service in Everman where for seventeen years he served that community and the surrounding areas. He never turned away a customer, even during a Cowboy game or if they were short a fee. Jim had a generous heart, deep love of family and will be greatly missed by all. He will be remembered most for his strong faith, quick wit and caring soul.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rosa Marie Lilly; daughters, Angie Lilly Beaty and Robin Lilly Calkins and husband, Craig; grandchildren, Christi Tye and husband, Josh, Dillon and Cassidy Calkins; great grandchildren, Mason and Kylie Tye and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
