With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved, Jimmy Carranza, 78, of Fort Worth, Texas, who passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on June 19. He was born on August 2, 1947, in Sonora, Texas.
For 30 years Jimmy worked as a pipe fitter at American Automatic Sprinkler Systems and 15 years as a security guard, building a humble and simple life for his family through hard work, dedication, and strong Christian values. After the passing of his wife, he spent the last 23 years of his retirement living with his only daughter and enjoying the life he had worked so hard to create.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, visiting flea markets, shopping trips to Home Depot, and collecting gardening tools to keep his yard in tip-top shape. He treasured the freedom retirement provided and enjoyed traveling, with a suitcase always packed and ready to go. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he never missed a game and never gave up hope of seeing another Super Bowl run, often saying, “Maybe next year.”
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Carranza. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emilie “Lulu” Carranza, and his parents Daniel G. and Josephine E. Carranza.
In accordance with his wishes, Jimmy will be interred at Laurel Land Cemetery beside his wife, Lulu, along with the ashes of his beloved pets, Fluffy, his faithful cat of 18 years, and Sasha, his cherished German Shepherd of 7 years. There will be no funeral or memorial service.
