Biography

Jimmy Ray Mitchell Jr., was born on November 16, 1997 at 6:20pm to Cherie Osei and Jimmy Ray Mitchell Sr., at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas in Fort Worth, Texas. From the moment Jimmy (Jim) entered this world, he was such a joyful and amazing human being. His smile and humor could light up any room! He could always make you laugh, even when you were trying not to! Jim was baptized at St. James A.M.E. Church and later attended River of Life Church in Jacksonville, North Carolina. When Jim was younger, he enjoyed being outdoors riding his Razor Rip Stik®, skateboarding, and playing his X-Box with his brothers. He played football and basketball for various leagues in North Carolina and Texas. Jim attended Dunbar High School and South Hills High School in Fort Worth. He later received his GED in 2015 and enrolled in classes at Tarrant County College. Jim’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a father to his two beautiful daughters, Kinsley Rose Mitchell and D’Liyah J’Nice Qualls, whom he adored, cherished, and loved with all his heart. Jim will be greatly missed by all. Even though he was taken away from us too soon, he will never be forgotten. Jim is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Frank and Hazel Phillips; grandparents, Tommie and Willie Floyd Mitchell. With much love and devotion, Jim leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Kinsley Rose Mitchell and D’Liyah J’Nice Qualls; Parents Cherie Tyler and Jimmy Ray Mitchell Sr; Step-father Michael Tyler; grandmother, Gwendolyn Phillips; sister, Tameka Anderson; brothers, Jackson and Xavier Tyler; niece Chandler Anderson; and a host of other family and friends.
